My daughter was born with eyes but could not see.
Born to a different mother, but God chose her to be with me.
Her life started out rough and it seemed it was all pain
But her mothers loss was meant to be my gain.
To her mother she was a burden from the beginning you see
But a blessing she has always been to my husband and me.
Although our resemblances are view that is for sure
I couldn’t have loved my own flesh and blood any more.
We brought her into our home broken and a mess
The first six months were a unbelievable test.
She rejected the love that we were willing to share
She screamed and threw fits and didn’t seem to care.
But as time continued on and we pressed through
She started to relax and show us a smile or two.
Then over a time she showed my husband and me
That although she was blind she really could see.
You see my daughter doesn’t see with eyes like we do
But she sees much deeper when she sees me and you.
For she sees into our souls and into our hearts
No racism with her she loves all from the start.
