Laura West Ministries

Laura is an Author and Christian Comedian Speaker from Sevierville , TN. She is also a Chaplain for the Sevier County Sheriff Department. Laura and John had been foster parents for over 12 years to over 100 medically fragile babies. In those years, Laura learned that to get through the darkest days you must have laughter. Proverbs 17:22 says, " Laughter is good like a medicine" and Laura believes in overdosing!

In 1995, God brought a special miracle into the West home called " Maleka." Maleka was born blind and at age 15 months scalded in a tub of hot water. Laura shares how believe it or not, humor is what got her family through those horrific days.  Laura uses her own personal experiences ( including caring for burnt children, many special needs children and losing a brother to cancer) to bring hope to so many who feel totally hopeless.  She does this by teaching how to die laughing!  She will have you crying one minute and rolling on the floor laughing the next.

 In March 2008,  Laura had her first book published, Blind, Burned and Living Against All Odds. This is not only a true story about all that their family has had to endure with Maleka but also an inspirational story of how awesome God truly is. It is a book that goes from tragedy to triumph.
