Laura West Ministries

Laura West is an Author and Christian Motivational Speaker from Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Laura has been speaking and sharing the love of Jesus for 6 years now. Laura has written a book about her adopted daughter Maleka. Maleka was born blind and then at age 15 months old she was scalded in a tub of hot water, thus resulting in 3rd degree burns to over 55% of her small body. The doctors gave Maleka a 5% chance of living but God had other plans!

Laura and her husband, John, moved their family to The Great Smoky Mountains nearly five years ago. Maleka now attends the Tennessee School for the Blind in Nashville. They also have an 8 year old son named Jordan and a 23 year old daughter named Ashley. Laura decided to start going out again and speaking to churches, ladies groups and many civic groups about "How to Learn to Die Laughing."

 In March 2008 Laura had her first book published, Blind, Burned and Living Against All Odds. This is not only a true story about all that their family has had to endure with Maleka but also an inspirational story of how awesome God truly is. It is a book that goes from tragedy to triumph.
